Highlighting leadership, advocacy, engagement, and behavioral health across Southeast Michigan
It takes more than one person, organization, or profession to build a strong community. When people unite around a common goal, support each other, solve problems, and create opportunities, everyone can thrive.
In my work in law enforcement, nursing, behavioral health, education, and community service, I have met many remarkable people who make a difference every day. These volunteers, advocates, educators, healthcare professionals, community leaders, students, and organizations all help strengthen our communities, often without recognition.
That’s why I’m starting Building Stronger Communities Together, a weekly series focused on leadership, advocacy, engagement, volunteerism, workforce development, and behavioral health in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties.
Every week, I’ll share stories about people making a difference, highlight organizations serving our communities, share training and networking opportunities, promote volunteer efforts, and look for ways we can work together to improve the health and well-being of those around us.
I hope this series does more than just inform. I want it to inspire connection, encourage collaboration, and help build relationships across Southeast Michigan.
No matter if you’re a student, volunteer, healthcare worker, educator, advocate, community leader, or just looking to get involved, you belong here.
By working together, we can build stronger partnerships, support behavioral health, help future leaders grow, expand access to care, and create healthier, more connected communities.
I can’t do this alone—I need your help.
Do you know a community champion, nonprofit, volunteer, educator, healthcare worker, student, or local event that should be recognized?
Please send me your nominations. I’d love to highlight the people and organizations making a positive difference in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties.
Stronger communities are built when we work together.
